Danni is a former Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), who has worked side-by-side with her peers in different medical offices. As time went on, she also taught the medical assistant curriculum at well respected vocational schools in her community and online. With her broad range of experience, she understands the concerns and struggles of medical assistants and knows the needs of those who are preparing for tests, quizzes, and final exams unlike anyone else.

Today, Danni no longer works in scrubs. Instead, she has traded her scrubs for the proverbial pajamas, since she now develops and manages some of the best known online medical assistant websites and resources right from home. She speaks to thousands of medical assistants coast to coast from a small corner desk in a small home office.
Danni’s relentless efforts have paid off in many ways. That is certainly good news as far as the global meltdown is concerned. The adage is ‘People will always get sick’ so Medical and Pharmaceutical companies will always have Medical/Pharma sales jobs.

The Pharmaceutical Industryemploys nearly 24,000 people and it contributes to 12% GDP. There are approximately 3,200 Medical Sales Representatives employed in Ireland.

Why is the job of the Medical Sales Representative so appealing?

1. It is a safe and pensionable job

2. It pays well- entry level salaries are €32-€35k p.a.

3. Good bonus scheme - 15%-30% of salary p.a.

4. Fully expensed company car

5. Laptop computer with broadband

6. Mobile phone

7. Lunch allowance of 12-18 euro per day

8. Garage allowance

0. Washing the car allowance

10. VHI subscription

11. Pension

With all these benefits, it is no wonder that there has been a huge increase of entry level Medical Sales Representatives into the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry.

But this job is not for everybody. If it was, there would be no room for any other Industry in this country.

The three most important skills a successful Medical Sales Representative must have are:

1. The ability to communicate effectively

2. The ability to convey information in a clear and precise way

3. The ability to sell

Without doubt, this is a very rewarding career. One word of caution for those who are trying to get into the medical sales arena at entry level, the competition is very stiff. You will be competing with those who are experienced.

Do not be put off, however, as there are a number of companies who are recruiting at entry level. These companies expect that entry level Medical Sales Representatives will have shown their commitment to entering the profession by taking the following steps:

1. Becoming a student member of the Medical Representative Institute of Ireland (MRII)

2. Shadowing a Medical Sales Representative in their job

3. Completing an Introduction to Medical Sales Course

To those that are looking to gain entry into the Medical Sales arena, the very best of Irish luck!

Credit source my friends: http://www.jackiebrownmedical.ie/medical-jobs-blog/category/medical-jobs/

Medical Assistant Guide - Essential Duties of Medical Assistants

Medical assistant is an unlicensed multi-skilled health professional who offers administrative, clerical and technical support to the physician.
