Now is the time to get in on the ground floor of this fast growing occupation. Healthcare employers prefer graduates of formal programs in medical assisting. Such programs are offered in vocational-technical high schools, postsecondary vocational schools, and community and junior colleges. Postsecondary programs usually last 1-year, resulting in a certificate or diploma, or 2 years, resulting in an associate degree.

Well, I can think of many reasons, the most important being ,that it is bullet proof in a recession. That is certainly good news as far as the global meltdown is concerned. The adage is ‘People will always get sick’ so Medical and Pharmaceutical companies will always have Medical/Pharma sales jobs.

The Pharmaceutical Industryemploys nearly 24,000 people and it contributes to 12% GDP. There are approximately 3,200 Medical Sales Representatives employed in Ireland.

Why is the job of the Medical Sales Representative so appealing?

1. It is a safe and pensionable job

2. It pays well- entry level salaries are €32-€35k p.a.

3. Good bonus scheme - 15%-30% of salary p.a.
